Sugar Snap Peas

Cl. Panic gave me two sugar nap pea plants about a month ago and they have now doubled in size. I created a scaffolding out of coffee stirrer sticks using Coach Nelson's glue gun. They look so happy! Soon, they will be ready for harvest and we can sneak them into hot pot!

Update (3/9/2010):

Update (3/11/2010):
OMG! My first sugar snap pea has arrived!!

Update (3/15/2010):
Three more peas have come in! Earmarked for L. Woods, Cl. Panic, and Green Thumbs. See if you can find them!

Update (3/16/2010):
Oh, no! My peas have competition! Below are Cl. Panic's peas. Note the net. It is from Daiso, the Japanese dollar store. The peas are looking great. I expect Cl. Panic to bring in a yummy sugar snap pea salad soon.

Yes! Wouldn't that be great! The peas have nearly doubled in size since the original posting. I updated the post above.

Forget about the peas!!! You are now a "Master" of the glue gun (insert Revelation music here). Impressive work.

Doesn't it feel good to harvest your own hard labour? The question is since you only have ONE peapod, who will get invited to your hot pot feast? It would be good to add to your salad or your ramen... yum yum. HOC A MA WA TAU, SUCK NGA LA DOUGH UM GAU Wa Toh

you poor unsuspecting souls...

do you really think that nonny nu would risk losing her sugar snap pea by tossing it into a public hotpot? she might was well redirect the vine into her mouth and let the little pea develop there. far as you all are concerned, there is no pea...there never was a pea...there never will be a pea.

I am so happy! Not only have I mastered the glue gun (this is my first masters degree!), I can also look forward to a sugar snap pea! It is true, though, that I have dibs on that first one. But, additional peas (if any) will be provided at the hot pot. See? I can share! But I must have my own sugar snap pea.

NN, I heard a complaint from another local farmer. It went something like this:

"She sends me a photo bragging about her pea plant, and I discover that she's built a trellis out of 2x4's, but left me with a couple of toothpicks ..."

Hahahahha.

Nonny Nu said...

Who is this local farmer? I can supply 2x4's for him/her. I learned how to share!

"I learned how to share!"

that is why your refusal to is so disgraceful.

times are tough. we could all benefit from your bountiful harvest. if you really cared, you'd pea on us all.

I can't believe I married you.

I am surprised you didn't call this a "Peaing Contest." Hahahahahhahahahaah!

Maybe I did...!

i would like to point out here that although it has been quite some time since the panics visited, there's not even been so much as a rumor of my inclusion in the next cranberry oatmeal cookie batch dispensing.

i'd like to point that out, but i won't.

For what it's worth, I have not heard a peap about any forthcoming cranraisin oatmeal cookies. But, if I hear about it, I'll be sure to bring home some. I promise.

Hi, people, do you all notice Nonny's trellis ...... eventually, the leaves will fill up the trellis and cover the window and she will have HER VERY OWN HOT POT ALL BY HERSELF PRIVATELY IN HER OFFICE.. I know her for 50 years lived with her for 25 on and off..... don't trust this girl......

I am eying NOT your peas but the pea vine (dau-mule) for stir fry. Volume-wise, it looks more promising than the peas.

What a dilima..... eat the vine you will not have privacy to enjoy the pea ALL BY YOURSELF .......

It looks like the peas will have to be eaten with ranch dressing in my office because they look ready to be harvested but I can't get to hot pot until April 2!
