Is Stubbie Trying to Tell Me Something?

Stubbie hasn't been eating in the past couple of days. I changed his water on Monday, so it shouldn't be because he has a dirty house. His fin is up, and he is active, so it doesn't look like he's sick. When I feed him, he swims toward the food but doesn't eat it. I just don't know what's wrong. He does have a modest bubble nest going, though. Do you think it's "that time of the year" for him?

stubbie is indeed trying to tell you something: he needs a female fish or neutering. i suggest that you take him to a local pond and release him, leaving his bowl nearby. if he loves you enough to remain incarcerated, he'll jump back into his little glass prison, retaining the benefit of his conjugal release.

btw, Stubbie's Godmother tells me that Stubbie becomes lethargic and depressed when I go on vacation. That should tell you a little something about our relationship.
