"plants take very well to salt water; sprinkle generously. "
Correct, which is why we don't have any real plants at the Nu residence.
Is the tree with year-round lights fake?
No, it's real. It actually exists but it is made of silk, which is why we call it the silk ficus tree.
So you do have real plants at home.
Yes, we have real fake plants.
*sniff-sniff*
aw, what's wrong, mr. snakeye?
i love semantics!

does anyone else here have any food allergies that makes their eyes sweat? these jamba juice orange dream machines are great, but the orange juice in them give me this weird little rush to the head, and the next thing i know i'm sweatin' to the oldies with a frost layer from my chin up, especially around my eyes. cinnamon gives me a similar effect.
c'mon, i know i'm not the only weirdo here.
~ ~ ~
OJ does the same to me. Probably because he's a murderer and all.
say what you must about mr. simpson, but the jury clearly exonerated him. what say we show a little more respect to our judicial system, hmm.
~ ~ ~
My apologies. I meant to say "convicted wrongful deatherer" and "satellite pirate."
*nods*
understood.

Cripes. I hope everyone sees the type of eating difficulties I have to deal with at home. My one and only issue is with artichokes, but my roommate can't hardly handle orange juice. The Food Gods have cursed me and I don't know why.
Pineapple makes my mouth itch.
I don;t understand this artichoke paranoia.
Mr. NN: How can *someone* eat Chicken's Knees and Ancient Eggs, but not enjoy a butter-lathered thistle?
Don't you have a meeting to go to?
the food gods have cursed you! i'm the one with the faulty wiring (or so i've been told).
~ ~ ~
Shrimp make my mouth itch, but only if I get stabbed by them while I am eating them. But, I just keep going regardless.
There better not be a new question during said meeting, or else ...
the food gods have cursed you!
Yes--who do you think sweeps up around you after each meal, Krumb King?
There better not be a new question during said meeting, or else ...
Stillman, get ready.
Pineapple makes my mouth itch.
aha! see, we're on to something.
How can *someone* eat Chicken's Knees and Ancient Eggs, but not enjoy a butter-lathered thistle?
cl. panic, it's as if you've known me a thousand years and can read my very mind.

I have a meeting too.
Oh, shoot, I just went by Cl. Panic's office to verify his absence and then I posted the question...
Hey, Stillman, I updated some of the "What's Growing in Nonny Nu's Office?" entries (Chia Herb Garden and Viola).
ptui!
Seaweed might help with that, b...

I think MFU got it in his Stillman-inspired barrage.
"Here is one of the rare photos of MonkeyPig in a dress."
Stillman, get ready.
That's it. This is going to cost you.
pshaw, I was in a meeting too.
pshaw, I was in a meeting too.
This does not discount the ultimate cost to the bunny.

"Nonny Nu, may I mumble dog face in the banana patch?"
He really did say that to me. Good work, Stillman!
incidentally, I read an article last night about how the Pacific Giant Salamander is one of few creatures that eats banana slugs.
你是铃声铃声的伯母。
COME ON!

侏儒
Dudes, these are the last two weeks of the competition! Plus, I promised Chinese questions this week, remember?
Cl. Panic: Um...okay, how should I put this? Well, all I can say is: "I am so not a bell sound's aunt!"
Midge: Answer must be in Chinese! And, use her fake name, not her real one!
I promised Chinese questions this week, remember?
I was informed of no such thing.
Dictator.
It was in the marquee.
SOunds like someone is a bad TWoNN citizen, not reading the marquee
约瑟芬
Thank you, I'll take those 5 points.
三條魚
猴子豬
The questions are written in Cantonese, not Mandarin. Also, BabelFish isn't the best translator.
You know what sound a bell makes? Ting ting!
sorry, your question specified "Answer must be in Chinese."
Strict adherence to what's stated in question was seen with the bear question requiring name of store rather than general reference to type of store.
I answered in Chinese.
Cl. Panic, so what is your answer?
吻我的眼睛蛇
~ ~ ~
You know what sound a bell makes? Ting ting!
but only when you strike it just right.

我的白人漢語說三魚
Oops! The 5 roll for #72 stands because it was for the question that Stillman answered before. Snakeye didn't jump the gun after all.
P.S. If you are White, please stop speaking Chinese to me until the next Chinese question. Thank you. You guys are hurting my eyes.
I tell you what, Mr. Nonny Nu. You tell me who should get the points and how many points.
I was notified this weekend that I may be biased against females. It might be true! Just look at the shamelisting.
I tell you what, Mr. Nonny Nu. You tell me who should get the points and how many points.
whoever said 'three fish' in chinese first. -only snakeye can determine the points.
~ ~ ~
Unfortunately, Cl. Panic is correct since he provided the phrase "三條魚."
Why I oughta....

then what are we waiting for! o/` you got roll me, and call me the tumblin' di[e] o/`

all that for a lousy old two. figures.

I think that Snakeye and I need to have an artichoke dinner in the near future ...
but only if you hold me tight and say my name real soft.
*lights candle*
~ ~ ~
The answer is supposed to be available on the blog before the question is asked.
Nuh-uh. Rule 5 says: "existing on the blog by the date that the question is posted"
As people venture guesses at answers, they become part of the blog and on the same date that the question is posted.
You *are* biased against women.
Mr. Nonny Nu? Do you agree with Stillman?
We've been clear about protecting real names all along. Its the only violation resulting in censoring!
she's good, she's good.
but on this one she's just using her lawyerly, wily ways...
~ ~ ~
Then, that proves it, Mr. Nonny Nu-- you are biased against women!
Cripes, I'm going to have to delete all those comments with the name in it. Here goes...

Okay, I see we are doing the "guessing game" again. Snakeye jumped the gun because "[3-fish's first name]" is not the correct answer, since the question clearly requires the answer to be in Chinese. The 5 roll for Question 72 is void.
Stillman's translation of "[3-fish's first name]" is, sadly, incorrect because this name was never provided until after the question was posted. (See Rule 5.) Plus, never has this person been referred to as "[3-fish's first name in phonetics]."
Unfortunately, Cl. Panic is correct since he provided the phrase "三條魚." The question was: "What is Ting Ting's (Midge's) mother's name?" The answer translated is "三條魚" ("three fish"). We really call her 三魚, but 三條魚 is correct too in a very point-at-the-gweilo-and-laugh sort of way.

we're on question #73, cheezwhiz.
btw, if stillman answered '[3-fish's first name]' in chinese first, then she should get credit, because that's what your damned question asked for. what kind of madhouse are you trying to run here anyway.

[3-fish's first name] was not available before the question was asked. (We only got that info when Midge answered the question.) The answer is supposed to be available on the blog before the question is asked. Plus, there is actually no translation of "[3-fish's first name]" in Chinese. The "translation" is actually Chinese words that sound like "[3-fish's first name]" in Chinese. ("[3-fish's first name in phonetics]" = blah blah blah) That's why a phonetic sounding out of [3-fish's first name] is incorrect.

Funny how much censorship we're seeing now that we've been forced to speak Chinese!
Good thing the olympic torch isn't scheduled to go past the offices of Nu Nu & Nu!
Good thing the olympic torch isn't scheduled to go past the offices of Nu Nu & Nu!
yeah, especially with all the tibetans we have around here!
('he's awakened, my lord, shackled though he may still be. upon your orders, my prince.)

White people speaking Chinese should always be censored.
Oh, did I say that out loud?
What will Feb. 8-14, 2009 be?
The 665th-671st days (or 95th week) of this blog. The info to answer the question is on the blog!
HAHAHA!!! There is a particular name that I have given it. But, good try!
Fine then. "National Crab Week."
Very good! That was a hard one.
Very good! That was a hard one.
Must... resist... obvious... response.... Do not want to offend Mrs. Cookie Panic (yeah okay or A-Dog). Although I note the wood chipper never did arrive.
Very good! That was a hard one.
Oh puh-lease. That was googleable. You mean to tell me that went unanswered while I dropped off a rental car, picked up my car from the shop, drove the the airport, parked, waited in line to finalize a reservation, came home and ate dinner.
Shameful.
Well, I think we have all learned that the sure fire way of warding off Bobby Peru is to mention him.
Bobby Peru!
Do not want to offend Mrs. Cookie Panic (yeah okay or A-Dog).
I don't think you need to worry about their sensitivities.
Oh puh-lease. That was googleable. You mean to tell me that went unanswered while I dropped off a rental car, picked up my car from the shop, drove the the airport, parked, waited in line to finalize a reservation, came home and ate dinner.
Cl. Panic, now that the frosting has been murdered, its body chopped into bits by your InSinkerator, maybe you can make something with all those sour grapes in your house?
Oh puh-lease. That was googleable. You mean to tell me that went unanswered while I dropped off a rental car, picked up my car from the shop, drove the the airport, parked, waited in line to finalize a reservation, came home and ate dinner.
Shameful.
Um, excuse me, I left at 3 to go up to SF, sat through a bar association event, came back to the office and answered the question. Cry me a river.
sour grapes in your house
But you're allergic to them!
You know what's funny? A lot of people I've met online refuse to believe that I am an attorney because of all the stuff I do online. They always wonder how I have all that time. Do you guys have the same problem?
A lot of people I've met online refuse to believe that I am an attorney because of all the stuff I do online.
We are chained to computers all day and masters of multitasking.
Blog shenanigans help keep us from going postal.
Then again I don't have enough time to go off and "meet people online" -- between that, your office gardening and other pursuits, it does cause one to wonder when you do any work!
That reminds me...timesheets. I HATE DOING THOSE.
you're an attorney?
whatever. money, money, money, moneee...muh-nay! ...
uh oh. (this can't be happening.) um, heh:
(|)
surprise!
*slithers off*
~ ~ ~
HAHAHHAHAHAHAAA!!! I'm sorry, this random die roll thing is just too hilarious.
Yeah. "Random."
i will not dignify that comment with a remark.
~ ~ ~
A lot of people I've met online refuse to believe that I am an attorney because of all the stuff I do online. They always wonder how I have all that time.
These people obviously don't understand lawyers. Cause forget about the time question... how is it that a bunch of lawyers from highly ranked schools now practicing at top law firms would put all this effort into answering questions only to unquestioningly subject themselves to the unsupervised die rolls of one sketchy bear with multiple personalities?
no she did not!
uh! did you see what she just wrote? did you!
you just don't kn--[throat cinches up]
*bawls hysterically*
~ ~ ~
"Yeah. 'Random.'"
See Stillman, supra note 123.
*bawls hysterically*
Now now, Snakeye, there's no need to cry. Remember that $50 bill I gave you for good luck?
Just ask old Bobby Peru where you can take that for a little "cheering up." He'll know what that means.
how is it that a bunch of lawyers from highly ranked schools now practicing at top law firms would put all this effort into answering questions only to unquestioningly subject themselves to the unsupervised die rolls of one sketchy bear with multiple personalities?
Good question.
But, look, now you've made Snakeye cry. I think that Reverend Doctor Terry Valentine would have a better idea on how to put that $50 to good use, right?
bobby peru already put that money to good use,
if you know what bobby means.

What, should we have had some trustworthy accountant from Bear Stearns supervise the rolls.
Mwaha hahahaha hah ha haha! *pees pants laughing*
yeah, i saw the snake. didn't look too good. over on jones now, that little club right on the corner there.
looked like he had an eye infection. whassup?

Bear Stearns
hehe...
What, should we have had some trustworthy accountant from Bear Stearns supervise the rolls.
Good idea. At the conclusion of this love fest on 4/15, Mr. NN (or personality du jour) should trot out with his briefcase chained to hand, a la academy awards.
Oh lord! The contest actually goes all the way until the 15th? Have mercy!
yes, and I am relying on a bob meighan/turbotax cluster-F to tie you up in the home stretch to tax day.
I don't want to scare you guys, but someone at Intuit in Texas, near Dallas, has been periodically logging into TWoNN.
What did I miss? When are the new TWoNNCoTY questions gonna be posted?
should we all start using anonymizer tools so NN can't keep tracking our logins?? Is she really working on a powerpoint showing the random computer habits of underutilized attorneys?
Is the answer to the most recent TWoNNCotY Question about eating plants, radishes?
Man from U.N.C.L.E., did you know that I am grieved that you missed the question by mere minutes? Maybe I shouldn't ask this, but, how could you not check out the new link in the marquee after our conversation last night?
